Enhanced Instructor Awareness Version 3!

FSFlyingSchool have once again made several incremental improvements to FSFlyingSchool, including new areas requiring the pilot's attention.
Mr Smith, the chief instructor, is looking at each pilot's performance in even greater detail with the arrival of FSFlyingSchool PRO 2017.
Here are some of the enhancements:Mr Smith has always advised that your flight controls be checked before flights.
In addition, he will now expect you to specifically check the free and correct function of your elevator, ailerons and rudder.

Your instructor will advise you that if your aircraft has been stored for a long time you need to check for damage or obstructions caused by insects and birds.
In cold weather, Mr Smith will remind you that frost on the wings can prevent the aircraft from becoming airborne.
Shortly after entering cruise mode, you'll hear comments from Mr Smith on your success or failure in checking your elevator, ailerons and rudder before take off.
Let's develop good habits.
If you're in the kind of aircraft that has a 'run-up' procedure, Mr Smith will point that out and expect it to be done before take off.
You'll be hearing from him later if you don't.
All your instructors will now announce your tail number when you start a flight on the ground.
If, for example you are flying "Mooney November Niner Zero Zero Three Juliet", we decided it was time that this was brought to your attention.
You need to know who you are in communications with ATC.

If there is no ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) is available at your departure airport, but there is AWOS, Mr Smith will now tell you the frequency automatically.
Be sure to listen to AWOS!

Mr Smith will remind you to fully extend and retract your flaps before take off to check their correct function.

Random Payload Option

It's easy to fall into the habit of always flying with exactly the same payload so we've created a convenient way to vary the number of passengers and baggage weight on each flight.
Just turn on this option at the Pilots Screen and you'll get a random payload of people and baggage each time you connect to FSFlyingSchool!As the pilot represents you, pilot weight is never changed, but a 4 seater can have between 1 and 4 people on board and possibly baggage, whereas a 2 seater can have 1 or 2 people and possibly baggage.

Addition of AWOS and ASOS frequencies at destination

Until now your instructor would only watch for the ATIS frequency at your destination airport, but now you'll receive the AWOS and ASOS frequency if they are there instead.

Addition of ATIS, AWOS and ASOS frequencies en route

Mr Smith will now optionally report the frequencies of this information as you pass their transmissions along your route.
It's good practice to listen to them as it keeps you up to date with what's going on down below and could be crucial in an aircraft or passenger emergency.

Addition of automatic tuning of ATIS, AWOS and ASOS en route and at destination

All instructors can now optionally tune your COM2 radio to these frequencies for you.
This is a great way to learn what these services can do for you, until you are ready to tune them yourself.

Addition of Log Book Statistics Charts to Full Log Book

Welcome to Release Week for the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies II for FSX, FSX-Steam Edition and Prepar3D v3.x!

As of this morning, we are still on track to our planned release date- and we have only a few small detail items to take care of before we push her out of the hangar for you to fly!

I have been promising to give you a quick rundown on some stuff that you might find interesting about this incredible new product, and late last night I sent an email out to the team asking for their help in collecting the various features and details that spring to their minds as "stuff that will interest you!"

We all agreed that this list is very short compared to what we have packed into this product, but it will serve as a reasonably good preview to give you an idea just how packed full of detail this product is! (This list isn't even close to being all-inclusive...by the way... if you like detail - this product is going to blow your mind.)

A few new, big items we are bringing you as well:

- Fully customized sound production model that allows us to enhance the cockpit sound experience to accurately match that you would have if you were sitting on the flight deck of a 747-400 in flight. This includes accurate implementation of fan noise, slipstream, cockpit environmental sounds, engine sound fading with speed and/or altitude, shaking, vibration and other environmental sounds you experience during the operation of the flight.

- Fully customized sound cones and projection models created using movie studio quality engineering equipment and software to reproduce the internal and external engine sounds for all engine types.This implementation includes multiple bass layers, seamless blending, customized sound cone stitching to eliminate distortion and reproduce the unique sound signature of each engine type.

- Significant support for sub-woofer use.

- Did we mention a fully customized sound engine with enhanced memory management to that allows us to provide an incredibly feature rich sound environment without negatively impacting VAS.

In this product, we are also introducing a new, fully customized physics model that becomes pervasive throughout the simulation:

- Realistic ground interface between the surface of the airplane tires and the ground surface.

- Accurate rolling resistance model between the aircraft tires and the ground surface. (variation between surface types is right around the corner, too!)

- accurate thermal energy transfer model for autobrake and manual brake use, including thermal soaking of brake/tire/landing gear elements.

- accurate thermal energy transfer model for cooling

- wing flex model based upon accurate rigidity, stiffness and oscillation model of the 747-400 wing structure.

- accurate thrust and energy model simulation for all engine types.

- accurate mixing and blending of air temperatures and pressures from engine bleed tap to cabin outflow valve, including thermal changes and pressurization.

- accurate control effectiveness based upon airspeed, angle of attack, control operation and deflection.

- parking brake, chocking position and increased rolling after tire loss based upon physics.

- engine pylon shaking based upon turbulence induced acceleration moment, wing motion and rotational inertia of engine components.

- cockpit viewpoint shaking based upon the airplane's physical interaction with the world, including taxi ground roll, takeoff, touch down, engine excessive vibration transmitted through the airframe, turbulence, stall conditions disrupting airflow, high speed buffet, speedbrake use, excessive G force, and more.

- transfer of heat between fluids (fuel mixing, hydraulic fluid returning to reservoirs, etc.)

- transfer of heat through heat exchangers in the bleed system, fuel and hydraulic systems.

- accurate modeling of fuel temperature based upon the thermal exchange of heat through the wing surface, radiant heating by the sun, etc.

- accurate modeling of cabin temperatures based upon a complete airflow model.

- cabin temperature modeling based upon electrical equipment operation, internal lighting operation, supplementary heating sources (foot/shoulder/windshield air use) the number of passengers onboard and their relative distribution throughout the cabin, solar heating of areas such as windows and exposure to direct or indirect sunlight, the state of cabin doors.

Okay... that list barely scratches the surface, if you can believe it...

There is a TON of stuff, options and details that you will discover as you explore and use the airplane, including pages and pages of options to allow you to customize the cockpit to match your favorite options or airline configuration. We are also providing a bunch of "verified" cockpit configurations for various airlines and airframes that will allow you to fly a specific airplane from a specific line, with the correct cockpit options selected.

The are just a few of the things that give the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies II an incredible level of authenticity all around.

All of this, and a ton of VAS management to keep you flying and enjoying the simulation.

Thule Air Base and Greenland Mesh For X-Plane 11

HSimulators launched a package with two additional elements- Thule Air Base and Greenland Mesh, for the X-Plane 11, also compatible with version 10.

Thule Air Base details this airport and all its surroundings, which was one of the main air bases in the time of the Cold War.

Greenland Mesh reproduces the entire scenery of Greenland and Northwest Canada, above 73 degrees North, which completes the X-Plane default scenery that is limited up to 72 degrees. There are 560 thousand square miles of scenery, that is a part of a project that will cover all North Pole and its extrems airports.

In addition to the airport area of Thule, reproduced in orthophoto, the scenario includes the maritime port, the civil / military housing nucleus, the BMEWS (Balistic Missile Eraly Warning System) shell complex, the launch bases for ballistic missiles (currently deactivated), satellite monitoring radars and other facilities.

Pacific Islands Simulation (PacSim) has just released Salt Lake City Int airport for P3D and FSX. (see product features here: http://islandsim.com/salt-lake-city-int.html). The product, in its current iteration, is a snapshot of its real-world counterpart taking into account various phases of real-world renovation.

The product also includes Salt Lake City, the entire Wasatch Front (Mountains), Oquirrh Mountains, and the Salt Lake valley suburbs beginning at Kaysville in the north to Lehi in the south.
The product features:
1. Accurate terminals 1 and 2, concourses, hangars and airport layout;
2. Salt City and suburbs;
3. HD custom runway and apron/tarmac textures;

The wait is over - FSX's most advanced 747-400 simulation has just been released by PMDG.
And to accompany this, the Remote CDU App has been updated to version 3.0 with full support for the B747, taking realism to an even higher level.
With over 7000 downloads so far for version 2.5, already supporting PMDG's 737 NGX and 777X, version 3.0 comes with all the features you have got used to.
that includes browser support for your favorite device - be it iOS, Android or Windows - and even multiple devices at the same time
support for multiple CDUs: access both CDUs in the 737 or all 3 of them for the 747 and 777
